An attractive livestock farm on the Shropshire Welsh border near Oswestry has been sold within a month of going on the market with Berrys.
Nant Farm, Morda, Oswestry has been bought by a farmer for in excess of its £630,000 guide. The property included a farmhouse with potential for modernisation, a range of traditional and modern farm buildings and 91 acres of land.
“Quality farms like this rarely come on market in this area and we had a great deal of interest from local people and from further afield,” said Sarah Reece who handled the sale for Berrys at Shrewsbury.
“The property was offered in lots and although there was plenty of interest in the individual lots, the property sold as a whole to a farmer from the vicinity.
“We had several offers from residential buyers looking at the farmhouse as a renovation project but these were outbid by the farmer who wanted to retain the farm as a working unit.
“Agricultural property continues to flourish despite the difficult economic climate and commercial farmers are leading the market over residential buyers looking to live in the country rather than farm,” she added.
