We have recently become aware of situations where farmers and contractors have been found to be liable for accidents following mud being deposited on the road and in one case a farmer is currently being prosecuted for manslaughter after the death of somebody where mud on the road was considered to be a contributing factor.
As such show extra care at this time of year especially given the recent showers which could make the top soil extra sticky and lead to problems with mud on the road.
It is your responsibility if you have deposited mud on the road to first of all put signs out stating this fact but this should only be a short term measure prior to you cleaning the mud away.
