Rural Business Grants
Details
All of the current England Rural Development schemes have now ended and the new schemes are due to be unveiled late in the year in order that they will be ready for implementation as of the 1st January 2007. As the initial consultation period has only just come to an end we would suggest that this time scale is slightly unrealistic and that the new schemes will be unveiled sometime in the summer or autumn of 2007.
It is proposed that the new schemes will have three core themes:
- Enhancing the environment and countryside
- Making agriculture and forestry more sustainable & competitive
- Enhancing opportunity in rural areas for those who are disadvantaged
Although the national schemes have now ended there is still the opportunity for funding in specific areas through the sub-regional strategic partnerships (SSP’s). These all have different goals and will aim to fund different schemes. If you require information regarding these schemes please contact your local Berrys office for more information.
