Health and Safety
OUR SERVICES
Have you considered Health and Safety on your farm? Consider this, would you let you children wander unaccompanied through a working factory? Of course not, but you probably wouldn’t think twice about letting them play in the farmyard. As most of us have grown up on farms we have been allowed to play on machinery and sit on tractors with our parents. Legislation, however, is becoming increasingly stringent and the HSE increasingly unsympathetic to businesses that fail to comply. If you have less than 5 employees then there is no statutory obligation for you to have a written down health and safety policy, however, if you have nothing written down then proving that you have considered certain points become very difficult.
Undoubtedly you will be insured, however, this does not cover any legal costs needed should the HSE consider a prosecution against you or any fines imposed..
Currently Health and Safety does not come into cross compliance but we believe it may be one of the next pieces of legislation to be added.
Berrys can offer a full consultancy service with a NEBOSH qualified Health and Safety Advisor to ensure that you fully comply with your statutory responsibilities.
